Hi lovelies,
As I put this post up, I have a confession to make: I am a crop top addict. I have been living in them nonstop for the last few weeks. I think I have also accumulated a trillion of them. And my husband isn’t of any help either when it comes to this addiction. He himself at several occasions came home with a handful of them for me to try and keep. I know come winter time I will have to remedy this addiction. My second addiction also came out of nowhere. I hated stripes! yes I said it I hated stripes. I would always wonder who wants to buy these but this year as the stripes hit everywhere, I have become a big fan of them especially the typical black and white one! so simple yet there is so much you can do to upgrade it. Now lets take the skirt for this example! I first saw this h&m skirt on the website and I awaited its arrival eagerly….only to find out it will never make it to the stores in our state. I called all 3 stores near me and no one had seen the skirt. The skirt was sold out online except in size 2. SCORE i thought only catch- lately I have been in between 2 and 4 size at H&M….sometimes I fit a 2 and other times a 4. I mustered up courage and placed my first ever online clothing order. By the time I placed the ordered I had already looked for the skirt for over a month. All of a sudden it was spotted in a nearby mall and I decided to just try it on. WHOOPS i cant fit a 2! I decided to buy the 4….only to come home and realize I placed the 4 back on the rack and brought home another 2! Finally after owning two of these skirts and having to return them with my size not available in the store anymore, I finally spotted a 4 again online on the website! I immediately ordered it and thankfully this time everything worked out beautifully. I love the skirt and everyone who has heard about the fiasco of this story agreed that it was worth the drama. I mean girls who have heavier bottoms (aka me) just dont fit right in skater skirts and dresses. There is no twirling room but this skirt is perfect for our body type. So i had to have it! Unfortunately couple other family requested I find this for them only….well the skirt is nowhere to be found anymore to everyone’s disappointment.
Let me know what you think about it- was it worth the hassle?
Crop Top: H&M
Skater Skirt: H&M
Dome Satchel: The Limited (currently in store)
Flats: Viviani
Very nice!
Thanks hun!
Lovely outfit!
Thank you! And also a big thank you for sharing this post on via your twitter!!! 🙂 As always you rock!
You looks fabulous in this outfit. I love this crop! I really like it paired with those skater stripes.
Thanks Ashley! I do like that the crop top is low enough and the skirt is high enough to only give a peek at the skin. I don’t think a huge gap would have had this effect. Thanks again 🙂
Hello Chicly Cute,
Thanks for getting back to me. I added you back into my favorites(lavocollections.wordpress.com/favourites/) . Can you give my store http://www.lavocollections.com shout out into your next posts? In exchange I will recommend your blog to my boutique visitors.
Ashley I would browse your collection and do that for you in the next few weeks. Would you like to collaborate on something? Let me know if you are interested. I am currently working with a few retailers to get them and myself more facetime on the web 🙂
Yes, i would love to. Tell me more about this.
Love the skirt!

So worth the work to get the skirt!
Thanks Char! I am glad you have backed me up on my craziness cause my husband thought I should be more patient with my shopping habits haha
Love this look from top to bottom and u rocked that skirt the best. If only I knew before u had a size 2 that u returned I would have bought it 🙂 but I will still keep looking for the skirt similar to it.
Sarah!
Guess what? I just ordered the sibling of this skirt in the new fall color of black and olive. Its the same material and style! You might just be in luck. It is available in a size 2 on the HM website : http://www.hm.com/us/product/26042?article=26042-B
This skirt I had to go a size up in since the skirt material is not stretchy. So keep that in mind when ordering 🙂
I really love this look – mainly because it has kind of a parisian attitude to me! Great post! http://hideorgochic.wordpress.com
Thank you 🙂
