Welcome 2014!

Hi lovelies,

I had an intense end to my 2013 to the point that I have bee MIA for about close to 2 months. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think I probably grew more in the last months then the remainder of the year of 2013. I did miss alot of you not just sharing my life as well as keeping up with all of you on your blogs! It’s just working the partime job in retail took over my life more than I expected. Somehow I was informed I am the highest seller and I started getting offered days to work during weekdays! Which is not what I had asked for. And some of you know I have a extreme respect of authority figures to the point where I have a hard time saying No to them….soooooo I caught myself working close to 30 hours at the mall besides my insane job which already makes me work 60 hours a week in Fall. Soooo with that out of the way here is what you have missed in my life and I might haveย  future posts coming with details ๐Ÿ™‚

1)I was actually recognized at the mall by a follower and a fellow blogger! It was surreal!!!!!!!!!!!! Here I was one minute ordering some food at the food court and then here was this pretty girl talking to me about my blog. Soooooooo I will reveal who that is in a future post this month and need I say collaborative posts to come soon?

2)I have worked really hard on my body and it was a blessing to start 2014 in the best shape I have been in 3 years since the foot injury! Which means with my renewed sense of what works in the health department there will be more health posts coming!!! I can officially tell you now what works and doesnt work ๐Ÿ™‚

3)I have stood at the mall for 30 hours a week back to back and my feet although got painful I have somehow managed to not cripple myself. I can now officially say I can do this! Yes it hurts and yes I have to ice my feet three times a day but I have been able to stand on my two aching feet and even cook dinner ๐Ÿ™‚

4) With my body atleast 80% where I need it to be, in 2014 I will be concentrating on working on my mind and personality. Building a stronger back bone and taking the “No Nonsense” attitude against the kindness sucking monsters a step ahead lol. So Look out for tons of motivational posts and support posts.

ย There is tons more but for now I am going to leave you guys with the pictures of intimate New Years Dinner Hubby and I had on New years day. We had friends over on the eve so it was more of a I am not cooking for so many people event ๐Ÿ™‚

How did you guys ring in the new year?

New Years’ Eve: Outfit and 3 Course Home Cooked Meal

Hi dearies – HAPPY NEW YEAR

I amย  back in the grind of the work life starting yesterday but I wanted to make this year a better one for myself and my blog. oh and not to forget my family. I would have to say the last week of December 2012 was the best ever for me. I had time off from work, got to spend time with family and didn’t have to look at the clock ticking going “times running out and I have so much to do still” Life just came to a halt nothing mattered except good company, food and laughter!

I want to extend this into my year 2013. I want to be a positive happy me, the one who had her head on straight during the holidays. So I am coming up with cures for stress and recipes on how to avoid it when it surfaces its ugly head. Look out for those on my blog this year ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow so this new years I decided to stay in. First we were going to have a house party but due to us moving out in about a month due to mold allergies in my current place I am in the midst of packing. Therefore the party got cancelled and I found out they had “The Twilight Zone” marathon on for 48 hours straight so that led to a lot of snuggle time, snacks and shrieks of excitement from me on all the spooky stories they played.

My inner chef woke up and wanted to prepare a meal from scratch. The menu got changed last minute because I didn’t want to do the tried and tested cause oh that would just be so boring! After careful thinking for about an hour and looking into the refrigerator and pantry I came up with the following menu:

1) Mozzarella Cheese Balls

2) Italian Style Garlic Oregano Chicken with veggies mixed in squash farfalle pasta

3) Callas (Dessert made of fried rice balls yum!)

I will be posting recipes to these items on here soon so if your interested check them out ๐Ÿ™‚

I also wore a non traditional New Years Dress for me. Most of the time I wear tight fitting or bodycon style dresses. This time I wanted to wear something frilly, girlie and fun and found this perfect dress in my closet that I haven’t touched the entire year of 2012! What do you think?

Your Weekly Style Shopper: New Years Party Special!

Hi Dearies,

I know I had completely fallen off the wagon with my Weekly Style Shopper Posts since I was so busy with work these past month and a half. But worry not I am back and this time I have sharpened my skills further and I personally feel this outfit is by far my fave! For those of you who recently joined my blog or have fallen onto this post while browsing the blogsphere- Your Weekly Style Shopper is a segment on my blog where I share bargain outfits that I found online or in stores with you all, as well as give you an idea on how you can go about wearing a certain bargain item. I have recently also started adding pictures of celebrities wearing a similar color, trend or outfit as an inspiration for those who need it. Gives you a better idea of what the color or style looks like on a real person (not always the same but atleast the style genre we are going for) I try to keep the cost as low as possible but once in a blue moon I find something soย  magical as the peplum top below that I couldn’t pass on it!

Anyway as the topic of the post already mentioned this weeks post is geared towards new years and what is better than wearing a peplum top and a flowy skirt which fall under some of the biggest trends of 2012. Worry not they are here to stay in 2013 with us ๐Ÿ™‚ I feel since the top is the star of the outfit we will keep the jewelry to the minimum. Depending on your comfort level you can do either nude or black sandals, pumps or flats.

Feel free to hit the follow button if you haven’t already to get more such deals and outfit ideas in the coming year 2013! Love you all ๐Ÿ™‚
