Weekly Style Shopper: Halloween Special Arabian Princess/Belly Dancer

Hey Guys,

I am still continuing the tradition of finding things already in our closets or things that we can buy to wear on Halloween but continue using them as clothing way after Halloween has passed. When you buy costumes you spent big bucks on them and then they just sit in your closet. Not this Halloween I won’t let you do that 🙂

This outfit is sorta Princess Jasmine inspired but Harem pants in mint are hard to come by. I decided to do a maxi skirt with crop top take on it. You can always continue wearing the maxi skirt and crop top way after Halloween is a distant memory. Also body jewelry is a big trend right now. If you have body chains then that would be a good replacement for this head plate. But this is something that women in certain cultures (including mine) wear pretty often for parties. So this can bring in your cultural side out. And ofcourse Gold shoes already belong in our closets so you might already have some handy. If not you cant go wrong owning a pair. This outfit will work if you already have a maxi skirt or crop top in matching color. Just add some body jewelry and you can claim to be a Princess from the Arabian World or an expert Belly Dancer.

Let me know what you think 🙂

Hi honies!

I have some new to break here which explains me being MIA. I get bored easily and I don’t like free time on my hand. With hubby being in school full time and working. There were days where I just came home to myself and just felt BLAH! When in College I took 6 to 7 credits and had atleast 2 or 3 part time jobs. I kindda missed the feeling of being tired. I understand most of my family and coworkers thought I am crazy to get a part time job because my actual job gets really busy in Fall and sometimes I work 60 hours or more. But….let me tell you..pushing yourself to the limits only makes you stronger and what? I can always quit the second job if things get overwhelming. But I was seriously missing the human contact in my actual job. Being an IT person sitting at your desk aint no fun. While everyone gets to go visit college fairs and high school fairs. I am left in the office to loose my mind. And I am anything but a loner. I thrive on energy I get from other human beings. I am like a plant that wilts when left alone 🙂 SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I now officially have a part time job working for a designer brand. Ah hahaha nothing special just a Sales Associate. It has brought energy back in my life. Time has been flying and I have been conversating with people. I am still missing that one on one time I want with the customers to style them like I used to back in the day maybe because in a high end store people sort of want to be left alone. Anyways we will see how it goes in the next few weeks. Christmas is coming and I am sure someone will want my opinion on what to buy their niece or nephew.

Anyways below are the last set of pictures I took before we bought a new camera. A canon T3i. Soooooo excited to find some time and take pictures. Halloween is coming up and I am so ready to take pictures of friends in their outfits. I will put the camera to some good use then.. Oh and the holidays too.

His sweeties,

These pics below are pre-sickness outfit pictures. I have been not just overwhelmed with some life decisions to make but also the amount of pictures that turned out really good for this outfit. Hence I just kept postponing the actual post 🙂 (not to forget the aforementioned sickness tehe) Come to think of it now this outfit would have been perfect for today! It was extremely hot here on the east coast. So weird that it is October and the temperature was in the high 80s. Global warming? Kind of freaks me out.

Anyway…I had been dying to wear a denim shirt and i thought what perfect way to pair it with than a very feminine lace mini skirt. To add a bit of fun I added a neutral colored statement necklace. An extremely bright wristlet and animal print flats. On this particular occasion we went back to one of our fave spots in the city to sit on top of the Federal Hill. Hubby and I always like to go there on a nice day and just talk about our future, about life in general and our goals. Something about being on top of that hill and looking down at the city line clears your head. We also ended up checking out this new Latin Fusion spot called Talara which I review on here pretty soon. The food was yummylicious. We need more of that down where I live because everything else gets so bland and boring.

Hubby was mildly surprised by my outfit choice and looked at me with proud eyes declaring that this has to be one of his fave outfits on me. Ah boys are so easy to please when they are in love with you 🙂

Weekly Style Shopper: Halloween Costume Special (Stuff Already in your Closet)

Hi Lovelies!

I have a very real reason why I have been MIA! I have been actually super sick to the point where my entire week was spent in and out of bed. I even had to take days off and half days off from work. So please forgive me but here I am with a new twist to our Weekly Style shopper post. I am going to do a weekly Halloween Costume special this entire month. I will try to find us items that are currently already in our closet or freely available in stores or online that are on trend. So you will not be wasting your money on buying something that you will never use again! (Ah minus costume jewelry but we will keep it to a minimum)

My first fave outfit which I had done in my college days for a Costume Staff meeting, was Catwoman. It was the easiest and most versatile outfit. Back then I found a pair of leggings and a black fitted tank top. Created my own face mask with construction paper and cat ears as well! Simple and easy and everyone will know who exactly you are.

Why this outfit is currently on trend? We are all currently seeing alot of Leather! Alot of high waisted stuff as well as crop tops. Lets combine it all together and we get the catwoman outfit! The more leather you have in your closet the better. If not you can invest in some because this fall and winter you will be wearing that out on the streets anyway. Otherwise even if you have one or two leather pieces it would work out just fine! You can create your own mask by using construction paper or by buying the cheap one I highlighted on my post below. If you have a crop top already in your closet but it has no sleeves then there is still no problem because we have seen catwoman go sleeveless over the years as well!  Plus who doesnt have a pair of boots already in the closet? And if you don’t have one well you are probably already planning to buy a pair for this fall cause they are all the madness.

Let me know what you think!
